Start speading the news... ( dadada with the whole kick line and all)

SO yesterday I went to NYC. Oh it was a blast. I got to see the Lion King on Broadway. It was awesome. A dream come true. I have been allowing so many of my long term dreams come true I am not sure if I can handle this.

While in NY I came to realize how different peoples lives can be.. the different backgounds and the things that bring people together. I think it was the 4 year old on the bus trip that made me think... She was from South Dakota and was visiting her grandparents in the capital region. She was going to see Lion King with grandpa. OH was she a cutie. She got talking about her family and she was telling about her dad who flew planes and how he was on a trip right now. I am assuming this trip was one that is hard for us all to imagine... the trip to war. While I listened to the little girl talk she talked about helping her mother take care of her 5 month old brother. She then talked about her dad some more and how she loved having him tickel her. As I sat there I just thought of all the little kids all over the US right now who do not have there mom's and Dad;s because there parents are fightin in the war. Now while I think is awesome how they are serving there nation I think about the children like this little girl who are affected by this. Growing up my dad was often busy with thing on the farm but he did make it to the special events. I think about how this little girl may not have her dad for the time being but I hope he will be able to return. It kind of was Ironic how the story of the Lion King the father dies and the son goes on.. I hope and pray that this real life situation does not turn out the same for this extremly intellegent 4 year old. I will never know if he returns ok or not.. but I can at least send out some prays that he will.

So God Bless America and the fact we can live free and travel to places as exciting as NY to see shows and experience life in the city but know we can come home. God Bless All our soliders and that they help to bring freedom and also return home to their families.
